WILD WORKS of WHIMSY
LANDSCAPE CONSULTATION and DESIGN SERVICES
Consultations
Please note that we can travel to you if you are within 30 minutes of Virginia Beach, VA, 23454. Depending on your address, we can accommodate some further locations with an additional travel fee.
-
A Ground-Level Consultation is a great starting point if you’re looking for expert guidance on your landscape and want to talk through ideas for your space. During this 60-minute on-site visit, we’ll walk your property together and discuss topics such as native and invasive plant identification, pruning, site conditions, stormwater considerations, and possibilities for improving your landscape with native plants.
You’re welcome to take notes and use the ideas from the consultation to guide your next steps. This service is ideal for homeowners who want professional insight and direction without a formal design plan.
Each consultation also includes a copy of the Southeast Virginia Regional Native Plant Guide.
-
A Canopy Consultation builds on the Ground-Level Consultation and is designed for homeowners who would like more detailed follow-up guidance after our visit. In addition to the 60-minute on-site consultation, you’ll receive written follow-up notes that may include plant recommendations, a preliminary plant list, bed photo mockups, or maintenance suggestions tailored to your property.
This option is helpful if you would like a clearer outline of next steps or plant ideas to help bring your landscape vision to life.
Optional plant sourcing assistance may also be available if you decide to move forward with purchasing plants for your project.
Design Master Plans
Please note that these plans are limited in availability.
-
Your Mini Plan includes everything from the Canopy Consultation, plus a scaled design for one landscape bed (up to approximately 500 sq. ft.). This plan provides a clear layout and plant recommendations to help you implement a beautiful, native landscape in a focused area of your yard.
Mini Plans are ideal for foundation plantings, front entry beds, buffer plantings, or other small landscape areas where a simple but thoughtful design is needed.
Plant procurement assistance may be available if you would like help sourcing the recommended plants (plant material and delivery fees not included).
-
After completing a homeowner questionnaire, we will schedule an on-site consultation to discuss your goals, site conditions, and landscape priorities. Following the consultation, we will prepare a conceptual design plan for your review and discussion.
Once feedback is incorporated, a final planting and landscape plan will be prepared for your property. These plans typically include plant lists, layout guidance, and recommendations tailored to your site conditions and design goals.
Most projects involve approximately 2–4 weeks of design development and email communication. A 50% design deposit is required to begin work, with the remaining balance due upon completion of the final design plan.
If desired, we may provide referrals to trusted landscape professionals who may be able to assist with installation.
